Dentists Now Using an Arsenal of Tricks to Help Cowards Stay in the Dental Chair for Much Needed Dental Work

icon1 Posted by Kolleen in Articles, Technology on 11 4th, 2009 | no responses

dentistsNumerous people put off going to dentists because they are afraid.  Going to the dentist is one of the top five fears people have only slightly eclipsed by dying a horrible death or the death of a loved one.

Many dentists feel they cannot get a decent break no matter what they try.  Several dentists are now claiming they “cater to cowards” in which they do everything in their powers to make people feel more comfortable when they have to visit the dentist because they have let their teeth go and now they are in excruciating pain and have no choice but to seek the help of a professional dentist.

The best dentist in Washington, DC will help their patients feel relaxed during any type of dental procedures, including a simple tooth cleaning which can scare many people because of the drilling and scraping.

The latest in dental office outfitting is flat screen TVs on the ceiling for patients to watch their favorite movies in order to keep their minds occupied and off what is going on in their mouths, or high-definition music through small earphones in which they could lay back, close their eyes and relax while allowing the music to take them away.

Hundreds of dentists surveyed believed that adults are just as bad as children when it comes to a visit to their office. Even the best dentist in Washington, DC can only do so much for a patient in pain because the patient must help themself by opening their mouth to allow the dentist to do their work.

One of the latest “tricks of the trade” for a dentist is to use nitrous oxide or laughing gas to help put patients at ease before a dental procedure. Laughing gas was once used several decades ago and then stopped but is now back in use because it has been found in many research studies to help relax patients enough to where they allow the dentists to work on their teeth without putting up a fight which could harm both the patient and the dentist.
