There have been many technological advances in computer games since a tiny frog leapt onto a log to cross the stream and then tried not to get squished by racing semis in the popular video game Frogger. For one thing, video games are no longer large games that could only be played in an arcade or ones that hook up to a television set. Video games are now available as handheld or downloadable from the Internet to a computer. Additionally, many people have become game tester as a real job in order to help insure that the new video games are both challenging and free from mistakes.
There are handheld video games that also do a multitude of other things including download movies and television shows, act as a cell phone, download GPS navigational systems and also offer free music downloads all through a wireless Internet connection. However, there are also handheld video games that are strictly used for game playing that offer a variety problem-solving puzzles and games in addition to helping children increase their reading, writing and math skills.
A video game manufacturer or video game designer would need to reach qualified applicants to become video game testers. A video game tester would need thousands of hours of experience, a detail orientated mind in which they could notice the tiniest of details in addition to good communication skills. A video game tester would be paid to do what they love best and that is play video games; however there is more involved than simply playing a video game for hours on end.
A video game tester would need to be able to also take written notes on such things as color, graphics and sound. The best way to do this would be to have a pen in notepad next to the game player on the table or even a small tablet of Post-it notes. This way the video game tester could jot down their thoughts without having to jump up and hunt for a piece of paper. Another idea would be to use a video recorder or a voice recorder so the gamer could tell our show the video games creator and designers where the problems are versus trying to write them down as in three minutes into the game or 15 minutes into the game.
A video game manufacturer or video game designer will sometimes push back the release date of a popular video game because their video game testers want to make sure the video game is ready for the purchasing public. A video game must go through rigorous testing to make sure all of the levels of the games within a game are somewhat challenging yet accessible.
